Non-Medicaid programs offer senior services that can provide assistance for those older adults who are in dire need. Washington State is home to nearly 1 million seniors. The state is home to several national parks and the iconic Space Needle.

If you or a family member is not eligible for Medicaid you may apply for a CFCO. The CFCO is a non-profit organization that provides services to those without money or insurance. The CFCO is available to seniors and persons with disabilities. It is funded by the Washington State Health Care Authority. Based on Social Security eligibility and medical need, eligibility requirements can vary.

Workers who provide in-home care

Washington's Office of Health Systems Oversight (OHSO) requires all home health workers to be licensed and certified. OHS conducts routine federal surveys, as well as complaints investigations, to ensure that home healthcare providers meet state standards. Washington state has over 400 in-home care agencies. Each agency must meet the same safety and health standards to be licensed. During every licensure period, the Office of Health Systems Oversight surveys each of these agencies. These surveys are scheduled and unannounced.

Washington state's in-home care workers can be hired either through a professional home health agency or directly by the individual. These workers can be close friends and family. Family members, but not spouses, may be employed as caregivers. These caregivers must be members or able to pass background checks and must be Service Employees International Union Local 755. Once hired, payments will be made to the caregiver and are made by the case manager.

What are my options for immunizations in the United States?

Immunization is the process by which a vaccine stimulates an immune response. The body creates antibodies (immunoglobulins), in response to the vaccine. These antibodies protect against infection.

What are you opinion on the most pressing issues in public health?

Many people suffer from obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. These conditions result in more deaths per year than AIDS combined with car crashes and murders. A poor diet, lack exercise, and smoking can all lead to high blood pressure as well as stroke, asthma and other health problems.

What is the difference between health system and health services?

Healthcare systems go beyond providing health services. They encompass everything that happens in the overall context of people’s lives, such as education, employment, housing, and social security.

Healthcare services, however, are focused on providing medical treatment for specific conditions, such as diabetes or cancer.

They can also refer to the provision generalist primary healthcare services by community-based doctors working under the direction and supervision of an NHS hospital trust.

What about the role of the private sector?

The private sector has a vital role to play in delivering healthcare. The private sector provides some equipment for hospitals.

It also pays for some of the staff who work in hospitals. It makes sense that they should be involved in the management of the system.

There are however limitations to what they offer.

It is impossible for private providers to be competitive with services provided by the government.

They shouldn't attempt to manage the entire system. This could mean that the system doesn't deliver good value for money.
